Rosa
Written by: Brett Connors ©March 2002

Rosa, how 'bout a Mimosa
And a couple days rest for me
I'm tired and the thought of you
Tears me to the point
And makes me think
Of what it'd be like to have that view
Every night
Rosa, come a little bit closer
And cum with me

Rosa, why don't you just
Come home with me
We're just 18 hours away
From the land of woods and trees
Well all right, I'm all done
I'm all through ramblin' on
Rosa, how about a Mimosa
and some rest for me

I Knew
Written by: Brett Connors ©March 2002

I knew that you'd come by
and look me in the eye
I knew that you'd come by
to see me again

I knew that you'd go there
with your long flowing hair
I just knew that you'd go there
to see him again

Chorus
Say I

I knew that you'd come back
Any fool could see that
I just knew that you'd come back
To see me again

I knew that you'd go there
I did not wonder where
I just knew that you'd go there
To see him again

Chorus
Solo
Chorus
Say I love you

Brand New Sweater
Written by: Brett Connors ©March 2002

Trish liked the way she looked
in her brand new sweater
All the guys would say
it made her finer features look better.

What the girls would say she wasn't aware
you see Trish was a sweet young millionaire
She drove a half-ton truck
but didn't have an ounce of care
Trish just wanted to go somewhere.

She wrote songs that led them to believe
that she had no money
Of course they had no effect
'cause she wouldn't play in front of anybody.

Everywhere she went she took way too long
She took forty-minute showers with the radio on
First song she heard she'd sing all day long.
She always did right 'cause she never knew wrong.

You see Trish never knew what it was like
to have no money
In the seat of her truck scraping for change
to buy a short bed '87 Chevy

Working forty hours a week for minimum wage
Yellin' at customers in fits of rage
It took her fourteen weeks just to read a book
'cause she never turned the page

Trish liked the way she looked
in her brand new sweater

 The Minibike Song
Written by: Brett Connors ©March 2002

Well I remember when I was younger
I bought an old minibike for five bucks
Well it needed a rebuilt engine
and it needed a brand new clutch

Well the chain was broke
And it had no shocks
So the ride it would be pretty rough
But at eight years old
I'd be riding the wind
If I could just make it run
And when I asked my dad
he said, "Son,"

Chorus 1
Well, if you fix it you can have it
Well, if you have it you can ride it
If you ride it you can crash it
And bring it back home again
it's yours.

Chorus 2
'Cause to me
It was a Harley Davidson 2500 bad set of wheels
To me it was a 6-speed cruiser
with a suicide shifter and an Indian feel
When you're that small
a minibike's a big deal.

Well I rode that bike now
For a couple of years
Survived about sixty-five black and blues
Till my best friend
Well he said to me
"Hey, a YZ-80'd be better for you."

Chorus 2
But to me
It was a Harley Davidson 2500 bad set of wheels
To me it was a 6-speed cruiser
with a suicide shifter and an Indian feel
When you're that small
a minibike's a big deal

Chorus 1
Well, and he said, If you fix it you can have it
If you have it you can ride it
If you ride it you can crash it
And bring it back home again
it's yours.

When It's All Gone
Written by: Brett Connors ©March 2002

It's lookin' like
Things might get better from here
What is right
Is the easiest thing to fear
Tonight
Always means the morning is near
Money's tight
Guess I'll have to work for another year

Chorus
'Cause it's that feel
ing you get
When it's all gone

Hey alright
See you again in 10 minutes or so
Maybe more
Maybe 10 years
Who's to know
This much is true
Yeah, this much I know
Is that nothing,
nothing, lasts forever

Chorus

Something Simple
Written by: Brett Connors ©March 2002

Something simple
Something real
Makes me feel
How I want to feel

It's so easy, easy, to see
What is good for me

Feelin' Alone
Written by: Glen Nelson ©March 2002

Thought of you the other night
Face bathed in firelight
Emotions realized
And reflected in your eyes
With The way you look at me
It's easy to see
What you're feeling for me
You brought the light,
You brought the light
Don't' think twice about our love

Thought of you the other night
Arms around you very tight
And I hope you're thinking of me
And how our somedays will be
With the way you came for me
I'm ready to see
Where we're going to be
You brought the light,
You brought the light
Please don't think twice about our love

When you're feeling alone
Just pick up the phone
And I'll be there for you
When you're feeling alone

Mutts
Written by: Brett Connors ©March 2002

She just stormed off
In the middle of the night
She didn't leave nothing
But some clothes
and a scent behind

Someone didn't set
The mood just right
No alarm needed
'Cause there's never any light

Chorus
Seems to me
This is another world
Seems to me
My God did you see that girl
Seems to me
We're just mutts in a puppy store
Seems to me
I gotta' get back to my world

Someone musta' put
Something in the water
They're a lot better lookin'
And a whole lot taller

Out every night
Spending kroner on the lager
You can try and figure it out
But just don't bother

Chorus

Best I Can
Written by: Brett Connors ©March 2002

Well, I'm livin' on the edge
And I feel like I'm being used
So mistreated
And can't find the words to use
Can't tell you where I'm going
And I don't mind if you care
I'll just sit here all by myself
Life isn't in my easy chair

Chorus
'Cause I'm doin'
The best I can
To get along with you

I'm driving down this long, long road
And you can tell from my lines
That I'm getting old
It's that same old routine, you see
It's just something that happens
Between you and me
I'll go your way
And you try mine
And together we'll cross
That same old line
'Cause it's that same old
Same old, same old
And together we will see

Chorus

New & Improved
Written by: Brett Connors ©March 2002

Gotta' drive this car
Best car made in America
You'll go real far
Best car made in America
Speed and power is great
Best car made in America
Take it out on a date
Best car made in America

Chorus
It's New Improved

This beer is new
Best beer made in America
It's made with natural blue
Best beer made in America
No after taste
Best beer made in America
It must be good for you
Best beer made in America

Chorus

This smoke is great
Best cigarettes in America
A smooth and bolder taste
Best cigarettes in America
Taste stays on your tongue
Best cigarettes in America
Bet you can't smoke just one
Best cigarettes in America

Chorus

Take a breath of fresh air
Best air made in America
'Cause soon it won't be there
Best air made in America
Soon we'll all see red
Best air made in America
How's that bomb gonna' feel on your head
Best air made in America

Chorus

Take Too Long
Written by: Brett Connors ©March 2002

Well we used to hang together
But that's in the past
We used to drive in nasty weather
But that's in the past
Remember that time you came home yellin'
But that's in the past
How many times there's no tellin'
But that's in the past

Chorus
I'd tell you why
But it'd take too long
I'd say good-bye
But it'd take too long

I used to say we'd always be together
But that's in the past
I used to tell you never say never
But that's in the past
We always used to break up
But that's in the past
And forget why when we woke up
But that's in the past

Chorus

Wrong Way
Written by: Brett Connors ©March 2002

It's been a long time
Since we've been to Colorado
Such a long ride
Back from Colorado
Will I be the last one standing?
Or will I be the first one to fall?
Sometimes my life's so demanding
Sometimes I don't do anything at all

Chorus
But Steve I've got to say
You're going the wrong way

We had a good time
Out in Colorado
Earth Day, The Soiled Dove
and The Armory tomorrow
Before we could get out of town
A fighter plane took me down
Now there's mountains in this town
Turn this Johnny big rig around

Chorus

Dogfather
Written by: Brett Connors ©March 2002
Dedicated to Baxter

When I cross the road
I'm strong and mean
"Cause I've been around
Since Moby Dick
was a sardine

I don't need a leash
'Cause I can't be tied down
And all of the hounds
Will be hangin' around

Chorus
'Cause I'm the Dogfather

If you're lookin' for me
I'm up on stage
Lyin' down
Right in front of the bass
If I am not found
You know I'm not far
I'll be makin' a deposit
In the neighbor's yard

Chorus

Merled & Haggard
Written by: Brett Connors ©March 2002

Well I've never prayed for rain
Like I prayed for rain today
Sometimes I wish I could never
see the light of day

Well I didn't get home last night
'Till about 4 - A - M
And the last thing I wanna' do
is move ladders and paint again

Chorus
'Cause I'm Merled and Haggard

Well my eyes are always red
And I feel like I never see my bed
Keith, Tom and Dano
Well they feel the same way I do
When the last thing they wanna' do
Is go to work again and paint with you

Chorus
'Cause they're Merled and Haggard

 Would?
Written by: Brett Connors/Glen Talbot ©March 2002

Would? Could? Accept?
My morning wood

God Bless
I'll take that silence as a yes
